No reserve supercars headline packed Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction

Among the wide range of no reserve offerings they are known for, Barrett-Jackson will sell several of the most desirable supercars during its 2023 Scottsdale Auction at WestWorld of Scottsdale, January 21-29.

One such example is an early-production 1989 Ferrari F40. This F40 is a one-off example finished in Nardo Gray. Featuring its matching-numbers engine and gearbox, it was originally constructed as an early non-cat, non-adjust F40 and was delivered new to Kroymans Automotive, an official Ferrari dealer in Holland.

After three years in the Netherlands, this F40 was rebuilt for racing by Peter van Erp of Cavallino Tuning, including a repaint in yellow, and was raced extensively by David Hart, Michel Oprey, Mike Hezemans, Bert Ploeg and H.W. te Pas. Upon its acquisition by the current owner, the F40 was shipped to the Zanasi Group of Maranello, Italy, the official Ferrari factory paint shop for supercars, tailor-made and Icona editions, where it received a cosmetic restoration to its current livery. Today, its final available horsepower output is between 700hp and near 1,000hp based on the setup.

With less than 3,400 miles on the odometer, a 2005 Porsche Carrera GT finished in red and also selling with no reserve, features the full complement of never-used fitted luggage. One of only 644 examples sold new to the United States during its entire three-year production from 2004-06, the Carrera GT remains one of the most desirable analog supercars.

Lot #1382 is a 2012 Lexus LFA powered by a V10 engine producing 552 hp and 354 ft/lbs of torque. Finished in its original ordered color of Steel Gray Metallic, this Lexus LFA is one of 156 made for the USA market and is being offered with the Lexus luggage with the VIN engraved, the Lexus LFA watch in the original LFA box and a hardbound LFA book.

American supercars are also well represented on the Scottsdale docket, with several second- and third-generation Ford GTs selling with No Reserve. Highlighting the Ford GTs on the docket is Lot #1390, a 2020 Ford GT Carbon Series with just 32 actual miles.
